Creating opportunities for vulnerable young people to move from secondary school towards tertiary education.

Akadon Cares Foundation supports selected financially disadvantaged and academically motivated young people through JAMB registration assistance, academic preparation, admission guidance, career support and mentorship.

About the programme

JAMB Scholarship, Academic Preparation, Admission Guidance and Mentorship for Vulnerable Youth

Many young people have the ability and ambition to pursue tertiary education but face financial and informational barriers.

The Pathways to Tertiary Education Programme responds to these challenges by combining JAMB registration support with orientation, academic skills development, career guidance and mentorship.

The programme currently focuses on vulnerable young people in Jos North LGA, Plateau State, and Kaduna South LGA, Kaduna State.

Programme components

Practical support at each stage

JAMB Registration Support

We provide registration assistance to selected young people who face financial barriers to participating in the tertiary education admission process.

JAMB Orientation

Beneficiaries receive practical guidance on JAMB registration, admission pathways, subject requirements and the transition to tertiary education.

Academic Skills Development

Participants receive training in effective study habits, time management, examination preparation and learning strategies.

Career Guidance & Mentorship

Young people receive guidance to help them make informed academic and career decisions and connect with appropriate mentors and opportunities.

Follow-up & Admission Support

We follow up with beneficiaries, where possible, to understand their examination participation, admission progress and transition into tertiary education.
